My priority, as your therapist, is to help you function well in all areas of your life. We can often be blind to the ways that we repeat painful patterns causing us to feel unfulfilled in life. I will help you understand the dynamics that are getting in your way and guide you in both the healing and growth process. I believe we all have the right to feel true joy in life. I also believe anyone can benefit from therapy and that it is truly a gift we give ourselves.
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and completed my undergraduate work at Bloomsburg University. I am dedicated to my work as a therapist and to my ongoing professional development. I complete continuing education annually which allows me to stay abreast of the latest research and treatment techniques in the field. Continuing education is also what allows me to remain a licensed therapist. I use a holistic approach based on psychodynamic principles and attachment theory. I use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy and solution-focused therapy. I am trained in The Love and Logic Way and have experience facilitating parenting groups. Most importantly, I believe in the healing power of relationships and have witnessed, firsthand, the healing power of a collaborative therapeutic process.
I am experienced in treating both mental health and substance abuse and have worked in a variety of locations from psychiatric hospitals to substance abuse treatment centers. These experiences have helped me to realize that no matter the treatment environment what is most beneficial in the healing process is the relationship between client and therapist. My goal is to help you “really” feel seen and heard in session. My approach will be tailored to your needs and goals for therapy. Therapy will provide you with more insight about your issues in life and invaluable tools to help navigate life in the future. Reach out to me and you will realize a shift from surviving in life to thriving in life.
